Grants and South Boston Programs
In 2011 and 2012, Treasure Time received grants to do literacy/arts programs in South Boston. Mrs. Treasure held six story hours at two Boston Public Library branches with as many as 75 parents and children attending each session.
Story Hours at South Boston branch of Boston Public Library
January 19- book about what animals do in winter
February 8- snowman book and making a snowman
March 8- green sock book and St. Paddy’s Day program
April 4- duck and goose book, and egg program
May 10- a book about Jack’s garden with songs and game
Drama Program at the Condon School
May through June, for 7 weekly sessions
Performance on June 20, 2011
Story Hour and Drama Program at the Columbia Street branch, Boston Public Library
July 31- Hermit Crab book and songs
September 1- Dory Story and play.
2011 and 2012 – Head Start
Mrs. Treasure has done story hours at all three Head Start sites in South Boston, starting with a program about Fall at West Broadway. She has been returning to do story hours each month in 2012 and will continue with a summer program.
2012 - Joseph Tynen Learning Center, South Boston
Treasure Time will be doing a fall drama course in conjunction with the Perkins School with a performance planned for Wednesday, November 21, 2012.
